Houston Eye Associates covers all areas of ophthalmic and optometric care, with treatments available in all specialties and for all ages. While most of our doctors perform annual eye examinations, all Houston Eye Associates physicians are specialty trained or fellowship-trained in one or more areas. These areas of specialization include: cornea, retina, glaucoma, pediatrics, refractive/LASIK/SMILE, oculoplastics, and uveitis. Vision is one of our most precious senses and should only be trusted to the best. Our optometrists offer full-service eye and vision care including annual eye exams, prescriptions for contact lenses and glasses, pediatric eye exams, or sports eye exams. They are trained to diagnose and treat eye disorders and vision conditions like nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, presbyopia, cataracts, keratoconus, glaucoma, and more. They may also test a person’s ability to focus and coordinate the eyes and see depth and colors accurately. Our optometrists are licensed by the state of Texas to examine the eyes to determine the presence of vision problems and visual acuity. They also prescribe low vision aids, vision therapy and may provide pre-and post-op care for laser surgery. Our optical shops offer a wide range of designer eyewear, premier sunglasses, soft contact lenses, colored contact lenses, and specialty contact lenses that include RGPs, Hybrids, and Scleral contacts.

Meet Our Glaucoma Team. As we wrap up World Glaucoma Week, we want you to know - if you or someone you love needs a glaucoma specialist, you’re in good hands at Houston Eye Associates. Our team brings decades of expertise and real care to every single patient.
Glaucoma is known as the “silent thief of sight” because most people have zero symptoms until vision is already gone. The only way to catch it early is through a comprehensive eye exam.
Christina has spent her entire career at Houston Eye Associates, working across everything from marketing to clinic operations. Over the last 20 years she has seen just about every side of ophthalmology and brings an incredible depth of knowledge to our team.
We are grateful for her loyalty, leadership, and the career she has built at HEA.
Christina shared:
"It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years. I’ve had the chance to grow with this organization and work with so many great people along the way. I’m proud to be part of the HEA team."
Thank you, Christina, for 20 years of dedication to Houston Eye Associates.

“I can see fine, I don’t need an eye exam.”
We hear this every single day. Then we dilate their eyes and find early signs of: macular degeneration, glaucoma pressure building, diabetic changes in the retina, or cataracts forming.
This is your reminder: If you’re over 50, annual comprehensive eye exams are essential.

We're celebrating Alejandrina today as she retires after 15 years with us.
As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Alejandrina dedicated a decade and a half to providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our physicians.
In her own words: "I am excited to start this new chapter in life! Though I am sad to leave my work family and the opportunity to serve patients. I'm very grateful for the opportunity that HEA gave me to grow and learn with everything this organization has provided along with the amazing doctors."
Alejandrina, thank you for everything you've given to HEA. We're so proud of you and excited for this next chapter. Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement! 👏
