Please join me in Celebrating Social Work month as our Program and our patients benefit from the talents of
Sabrina Farina and Christine Barr!
Everyday can be a challenge to our patients with bleeding and clotting disorders and our Social Workers utilize multiple skills in addressing and supporting our patient population.
They work consistently to face challenges, advocate, celebrate milestones and contribute to the care of patients and our team members!
Thank you Sabrina and Christine!

It's TIME to thank a social worker. Is there a social worker you would like to say “Thank you!” to for ?

Collaborate with The PAN Foundation to voice your concerns regarding delays in “Prior Authorization” impacting detaining your needed medication.
See below: you can email your representative or ask others in the Bleeding Disorders Community to “advocate with us”
Contact the Local Chapter, at Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation with further recommendations.

It’s day two of our 2025 Advocacy Action Summit, and our advocates are visiting Capitol Hill to meet with their Congressional representatives and urge them to put patients first. But you don’t have to be in DC to join us in taking action.

👉 Join our virtual Week of Action from wherever you are and contact your lawmakers with our easy-to-use advocacy action tool: https://bit.ly/45M3SwL

Today’s legislative focus is prior authorization, a cost-control process used by health plans that can cause delays in treatment by requiring pre-approval from health plans for a prescribed medication or treatment.

The Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 3514 / S. 1816) would address these burdensome delays by requiring electronic and real-time prior authorization, establishing clear decision timelines, increasing transparency, and more.

Join our community in communicating with your elected officials to advocate for the restoration of CDC Blood Disorders division.

🚨 The bleeding disorders community needs you to take ACTION NOW.

During Washington Days, over 400 advocates made an impact on Capitol Hill, and we secured 6 new cosponsors for the HELP Copays Act.

But this week, the stakes have been raised. The Administration has announced major cuts to the CDC’s Division of Blood Disorders, which is critical to our community’s health and progress.
We cannot afford to lose these programs.

These cuts threaten vital research, education, and safety programs that our community relies on.

📝 Here’s how you can help:

1. Call your lawmakers at 202-224-3121

2. Tell them: “Protect the CDC’s bleeding disorders programs. Reverse the cuts and reinstate funding to ensure research, education, and patient safety continue.”

Your action TODAY will make all the difference. Let’s keep pushing for change! Read more at www.bleeding.org/news.
