dysport: an injectable treatment (neurotoxin) that temporarily reduces the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles (can also be used in other parts of the body to relieve tension in muscles ie traps)
💉primarily used for treatment of the glabellar lines (frown lines/11s)
💉injections are given underneath the skin so are not significantly absorbed systemically
💉temporary side effects include: headache, pain at the injection site, and inflammation
💉more severe side effects include: nausea, eyelid drooping, and muscle weakness. Incontinence and breathing/swallowing difficulties may arise, but are rare
💉no down time, however AVOID lying on your back, scratching the injection site, applying heat or heavy pressure on the treated area, sleeping on your side, and activities that may cause flushing (working out)
💉remedies to prevent bruising: apply ice, refrain from vigorous activities 1-2 days, continue apply arnica, sleep on your back, and avoiding any substances that may prevent clotting
