This young woman had bunions even when she was a child. Over the years, she had severe pain, difficulty wearing shoes, and was very self conscious about the appearance.
Four weeks ago, I did a modified Lapidus repair of the first (great toe ray and repaired the clawing of the lesser toes, via tendon transfer. She was able to take weight on her foot after a few days. When she first came in to see me afterward, and she saw her foot, she cried and hugged my nurse and me.
The second pic is at four weeks.

And these results ARE typical. I tell patients that this is exactly what they can expect.
