This song helped snapped me out of my despair when I was 15 years old and kept me from pursuing su***de. If you’re going through a rough time in your life, hold on. God loves you and has a beautiful plan for your life, to redeem your past and be present in this gift of a moment. He holds your future in His loving hands.

We are freed from any sin and shame because of Jesus’ death on the cross. His resurrection on the first Easter morning gives us hope for new life in Him. The old has passed away, the new us can begin again. Blessings, friends.

Some people get so into yoga and its source, they wander away from Jesus, but my journey has been different. It was because I was having to battle mentally with teachers who didn’t share my faith that I started teaching from my point of view. Anything, anyone, any pursuit can be made an idol. I think our heart and intentions matter a great deal and we can pray to and commune with God in any physical position, while we are doing almost anything, but nothing unethical or immoral.

Practicing the presence of God by Brother Lawrence shares many examples of this. For me, yoga was a moving meditation. I often play Christian worship music, hymns, calming, happy or calming instrumentals while I practiced or taught. It was a way to move and calm my body and mind while I prayed and meditated. Yoga is a form of mental, physical and spiritual exercise to me and it’s one of the way I use to draw closer to God, like walking and praying, reading the Bible, journaling, playing the violin or creating art. I just want to live in a way that honors jesus’s sacrifice and shows my gratitude to God, for his love, direction and blessings (especially through the challenges in life).

Romans 8:28, I paraphrase “and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called to his purpose.” I hold onto this when I’ve struggled with sickness, when life gets tough, when unforseen and terrible things happen, somehow God makes a way through. When we remember God’s faithfulness, we are able to face the unknowns of our tomorrows. May you, my friend, be blessed and experience more of God’s love and truth in your life today. Amen.

Singing the Goodness of God in chapel, the lyrics “the goodness of God is running after me” makes me think maybe that’s why we are instructed to spend time with God, slow down enough for the goodness of God to catch up with us…

PSA: There is such a thing as a happy and healthy weight range for everybody in every season of life. It’s a quality of life issue. Food is fuel for living, not our enemy. May God’s truth free us from our fears. Your worth is not based on your BMI.

I realized that I was working out a whole lot more than I am doing now, when I was in the best shape of my life. So I've got to shake up my routines if I want different results. Why has it taken so long to realize this? Better late than never!

I just made this comment on an artist group: She had family say her art was a waste of time. I say, “If you have the money for art supplies, if it’s therapeutic for you to paint and you enjoy the process, then keep doing it for yourself. It’s self-care & it’s better use of time than bingeing on Netflix or social media. To thine own self be true. God gave you the passion, so follow your calling, regardless of what others may say.” Whatever your creative pursuits, everything takes practice, be it yoga, art, music…Pray & persist in your practice and trust in the process of growth. Blessings on this Sabbath day, my friends!

God is the ultimate creator and He loves each of us immensely. I pray that you will experience His love and be healed of any afflictions. I believe that God has given each of us purpose, that is why we are here. A major piece of our purpose is to know Him and thereby know who we are, our intrinsic value as his creation and a masterpiece He is creating. He paints in broad strokes & fine details. He uses bright colors, neutrals and darks. There are areas of calm and points of great contrast. We are seeing and experiencing in part, but at the end of our days, we’ll be able to look back and see how He’s worked everything for His glory and our ultimate best. Trust, faith, forgiveness, hope and love. I pray you sense His blessings in your life today and be filled with happy thoughts. Enjoy your art and any abilities you have for movement or breath. Today is a gift. May you enjoy it to the full!

I think it’s been about a year since I’ve taught an in person yoga or weight lifting class. I’ve been enjoying almost daily walks, anywhere from 30min-1hr. Confession: I’ve found it tough to maintain a regular personal yoga practice, without the accountability of teaching.

A few weeks ago, I decided to do a creative mix of 40 vinyasa. I think that’s the most I’ve ever done in a single day. It was spread out over 2 sessions. I felt a bit out of shape, but really felt my arms burn for the next week. Wow, was I ever humbled. I’ve been hesitant to get back into it since, except a bit of neck rolls and stretches. Exercise releases endorphins. What are y’all doing to stay active? Hope you’re able to do something everyday that sparks Joy for you. God bless.

I had a friend who recently asked about getting started with a yoga practice. I suggest checking out my YouTube Channel: Rona Hansen. I created a few yoga class videos during the beginning of the Covid quarantine, in the Spring of 2020. They vary in length from 20min to over an hour. I teach in a similar way as I do in my live classes. So it’s like having a yoga class in the privacy of your own home. In addition to teaching about the poses as I demonstrate, I sprinkle in a bit of Bible wisdom, positive mental attitude & life coaching. I sincerely hope it’s a blessing to you, in this busy season. Namaste, friends.

I’ve got new yoga videos on my YouTube channel: Rona Hansen. Feel free to look me up & enjoy the free yoga classes online. I will post a new video at least once a week during this Covid season moving forward. Breathe and be blessed. Stay safe everyone!
