This morning, we had a delightful experience on our field trip to Target.
We purchased candy, tried on clothing, and enjoyed each other's company.

Taking dementia residents on outings necessitates meticulous planning to minimize overstimulation, focusing on brief, familiar, and flexible excursions during their periods of peak alertness, typically in the mornings.

Going on field trips also creates lasting memories!

It was a truly magical day at Auberge at Vintage Lake 💙

We had the incredible Klein Cain High School Orchestra at our community for a special performance, filling our halls with beautiful music and joy. One moment made it even more meaningful—our very own resident, Julia, once played in the orchestra.

In this video, you’ll see something unforgettable: Julia stepping up to help conduct the group during their performance of Beauty and the Beast. Watching her reconnect with her passion and lead with such grace was a powerful reminder of how music can bring back cherished memories and create new ones.

Fresh oranges and stimulating discussions.

Once the rain subsided, we were able to sit outside, savor our oranges and engage in meaningful conversation.

What a truly uplifting experience we had. Everyone shared numerous inspiring anecdotes, and we reveled in abundant laughter.

Encouraging conversation among dementia residents necessitates serene, low-distraction environments with optimal lighting, fostering a profound sense of security and connection.

We turned our Movie Theater into a day of relaxation and joy with a beautiful Spa Day experience for our residents! 💆‍♀️

From soothing treatments to meaningful moments of connection, it was truly a special day. Our amazing chef elevated the experience with delicious, refreshing treats that everyone enjoyed.

A big thank you to our incredible partners at Select Rehabilitation and our dedicated in-house therapy team (OT, PT, and ST) for helping make this event so memorable. It’s partnerships like these that allow us to create enriching, engaging experiences for those we serve.

We had a wonderful time at our Easter celebration. We donned rabbit ears, engaged in games and even spotted a very cute rabbit!!

Continuing traditions with dementia requires adapting activities to focus on sensory experiences, emotional connection, and familiarity rather than strict adherence to past routines.

Coffee and friends are always a great combination!

Today, we took a drive to our neighborhood Starbucks, and it was FANTASTIC COFFEE ☕️☕️❤️☕️☕️🎉🎉🎉.

We sat and chatted as we drank our coffee and ate our cake pops.

Outings can be highly beneficial for dementia patients, offering sensory stimulation, improved mood, reduced anxiety, and better sleep.

It was a great way to spend time with friends and create memories.

Today I hosted my monthly Brunch Event.

We commemorated St Patrick’s day with great enthusiasm!

Our chef, Chef Will, did an outstanding job preparing Irish-themed delicacies.

Everyone had an exciting time playing bingo and engaging in introductions while enjoying each other’s company.
