Standing up when needed 40,000fts Above. Today I was on a flight from Doula to addis Ababa when we had a medical emergency onboard. A passenger was seriously distress and needed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) when the crew reached out via the intercom and asked if there was any medical personnel on board. I had to stand up for the task. While performing CPR a young man walked to me and asked me to stop. In his word “ I have what it takes to heal him” in a very rude and arrogant tone he then insisted he wants to pray for him. He said “I have the anointing needed to heal him “ wonders I looked and continued my task. Once I was done, I placed him on the seat and took his vital signs. Through out this process this guy kept disturbing and interrupting me with the need to lay his hands, I told him papa be praying let me be working. After all was set and done I allowed him to lay the hands. What got me annoyed was the level of pride and arrogance he demonstrated. I later met him and asked him who he was and he said he was a pastor. I had to advice him, I humorously said brother you are a pastor, me and in MAJOR prophet and work in a higher spiritual office, Sir wisdom is profitable to direct, your attempt to stop CPR and constant effort to interrupt me when I was taking his blood pressure was a very wrong approach. Chai make God help some of us believers, no me ohhh
My take:
The young man who claimed to be a pastor may have had good intentions—but his timing, attitude, and approach were flawed. In moments of crisis, it’s essential to work together, not create conflict or delay. Even scripture tells us that faith without works is dead—and in that moment, CPR was the work needed.
There’s room for both prayer and action, but the prayer should support, not obstruct. His arrogance wasn’t just inappropriate—it was dangerous. I believe I showed maturity by letting him lay hands after the emergency was under control. That’s wisdom. That’s leadership. And as a major prophet I had to do a Perfect blend of humor and correction.
