Meeting for today, 1/16, is cancelled. Please email Hannah if you would like to be considered for an officer position so that further arrangements can be made. Stay safe and warm!

Hey everyone!

It's that time of year -- Officer selections! If you are interested in a leadership position, be sure to meet on Tuesday, 1/16, in MSB 3.001 for a mini-interview process. Don't worry, it'll be pretty informal and relatively quick!

Also, we've found a great place to get affordable custom t-shirts made in Houston!! It's a super easy process so if you have any design ideas, share them on Tuesday :)

If you are not able to make it on Tuesday but are interested in serving as an officer, please shoot me an email at hannah.k.uhlig@uth.tmc.edu

TL;DR - SERVICE OPPORTUNITY on OCTOBER 21ST. Nutrition/fitness education for BAM Extracurricular Elective Credit.

Have you heard about UTHealth Cares? It is a student driven collaborative initiative designed to uniquely address the health concerns of Houston's underserved population through substantive community engagement. This joint effort of the six schools of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) will culminate with a community health fair on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at UT Physicians Clinic - Jensen in Houston. To further foster community relationships, there will be multiple service projects prior to the health fair. One of these service events is called the Jensen Jubilee and takes place on October 21, 2017.

The Jensen Jubilee is an annual event in which the community gathers a variety of vendors and businesses together with the primary purpose of providing resources and education to the community, ultimately enhancing the quality of life of the Eastex Jensen Neighborhood. Body & Mind has been invited to provide some education about nutrition and fitness! We need 3-4 students at our booth at a time. The event is on 10/21 from 9am-1pm. Don't worry if you don't have a degree in nutrition or exercise science! We just need some eager and friendly students to help run the booth (provide handouts, lead some interactive activities, answer questions, etc.). If you are interested in and available to serve this community, please sign up here: https://docs.google.com/a/uth.edu/spreadsheets/d/1U_hIT9_tQzLJkWMWuJ2rkZqggcWA-3fEeBA1Zh-QGH0/edit?usp=sharing
