Please join us in welcoming Megan Lowe as the new administrator of Afton Oaks. Originally from Jackson, MS, Megan has lived in Houston, Texas for the past ten years. She holds a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Mississippi College and a degree in Finance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. With over 15 years of experience in long-term care, Megan has worked in the LTC industry, along with experience at APS and the Harris County Health Department. In her free time, she loves to travel and spend time with her family. Megan is passionate about ensuring that facilities deliver quality care and finds joy in working with the elderly and disabled.

Social work may not come in a jar, but if it did, it would be filled with empathy, patience, advocacy, problem solving, and a whole lot of listening.

Behind every strong community are social workers who show up every day ready to support, guide, and advocate for others, often during some of life’s most difficult moments.

It takes heart, resilience, organization, and compassion to do what social workers do. And let’s be honest, sometimes it also takes a little extra patience and a good sense of humor too.

During Social Worker Appreciation Month we celebrate the dedication, the impact, and the difference you make every single day.
