The to-do list will still be there tomorrow. I promise.
I know that sounds simple. But closing the laptop before everything is done can feel genuinely physically uncomfortable. Like you’re abandoning something.
Here’s what’s actually happening: when your worth gets tied to productivity, stopping starts to feel like failing. So you stay. You push. You tell yourself “just one more thing” … and then it’s 8pm and you’re resentful and depleted and somehow still feel behind.
The women who learn to stop before they’re finished are not less productive. They’re more present, more regulated, and they actually come back to the work sharper.
So how do you actually do it?
Set a non-negotiable close time and treat it like a meeting you cannot cancel. Put something on the other side of it worth stopping for.
Small shifts. Real change. That’s the work.
If this resonates and you’re ready to go deeper, the link in my bio is a good place to start. 🤍
