We had our largest campout yet at Brazos Bend State Park this weekend! 🐊🐊🐊

This was our first Grant sponsored trip thanks to COOP grant!!! We had 28 people for the weekend and got to check out the George Observatory 💫🔭

Nothing beats a weekend retreat to the woods, sitting around playing campfire games with people you love 🔥🥰

We also saw some cute critters and had a couple of surprise alumni guests 🦟🕷️🐊

CIR is so excited to be matched with Daniel Zamora from the GCSW! Daniel will be our practicum student for this upcoming year! 📚🤗

Daniel E. Zamora is a multidisciplinary artist and graduate student in the University of Houston’s MFA program in Interdisciplinary Practices and Emerging Forms. In 2025, he will also begin studies at UH’s Graduate College of Social Work, pursuing the clinical track toward becoming a psychotherapist specializing in EMDR, trauma therapy, and substance use disorder treatment. Zamora’s long-term vision includes opening a private practice and advocating for collegiate recovery at the local, national, and international levels. Outside of his academic and professional work, Zamora enjoys travel, photography, cycling, hiking, and time spent as a committed lay practitioner in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition. His practice continues to inform both his art and his approach to clinical work, centering on compassion, presence, and transformation. ☮️
