Last week, Carolyn Alex from our facility in Houston North Loop had the pleasure of joining in on many events across the city. This included the Houston Area Su***de Prevention Coalition Anniversary, CyFair ISD Community Connections Fair and the Adolescent Resource Collective.

It was a great week of connecting with other mental health providers in the Greater Houston area to share about our Intensive Outpatient Program, which serves adolescents and adults. Learn more: https://bit.ly/404TBIv.

So much substance use is rooted in untreated mental health challenges or unresolved trauma—and organizations like Alamo Behavioral Health are stepping up to fill that gap. They’re TRICARE in-network and committed to supporting our veterans.

Discharge Coordinator Wesley Wright gave us a tour of their clean, calming facility, thoughtfully designed to help individuals begin recovery and continue their healing journey. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4cjwpxw

Men in the trades face unique pressures—long hours, physical demands and the expectation to provide for others. Carrying that weight alone isn’t sustainable.

Prioritizing mental health is not a sign of weakness; it’s a key part of long-term performance, safety and leadership. Communicating stress, setting boundaries and sharing needs helps prevent burnout and supports better teamwork on and off the job. Strong providers aren’t the ones who stay silent—they’re the ones who seek balance, speak up and model healthy coping for the people who count on them.

Your well-being is essential to the work you do and asking for support is a professional strength.

Our location in San Antonio now offers same-day virtual intakes! We’re ready, accessible and here to make caring for yourself as easy as possible.

While it may seem counterintuitive to watch a video about reducing screen time on a screen, applying these strategies for yourself and your family can significantly help lower overall stress levels.

Many people struggle with distressing thoughts or heightened energy, but not all symptoms come from the same place. Understanding the differences can be the first step toward getting the right kind of support.

🔹 PTSD Rumination
Replays of traumatic events that feel intrusive and distressing. Thoughts loop around past experiences, often triggered by reminders or stress and feel stuck in the body and mind.

🔹 Anxiety Based Worrying
Future-focused “what if” thinking that spirals into worst-case scenarios. It’s persistent, anticipatory and often feels like you can’t turn off your internal alarm system.

🔹 Restless Mania
A heightened state of energy and racing thoughts that move quickly, jumping from idea to idea. This isn't stress—it’s an elevated mood state that can feel urgent, impulsive, or hard to control.

If you’re noticing any of these patterns—whether they’re new or longstanding—you don’t have to navigate them alone. Clarity, support and practical guidance are available.

Schedule an appointment to sort through what you’re experiencing and find a path that brings relief, understanding and steadiness.

Changing Seasons & Mental “Spring Cleaning”

As the seasons begin to change, it’s a natural time to pause, reset and check in with ourselves. Just like spring cleaning our homes, our mental and emotional routines sometimes need a refresh too.

Burnout and chronic stress can quietly build when life stays busy for too long. Adding intentional routines can help you protect the progress you’ve already made this year and keep your New Year momentum going.

At the Thousand Branches Wellness location in Austin, we support adolescents and adults in reducing burnout, restoring balance and strengthening resilience through evidence-based care, compassionate providers and comfortable treatment spaces. Our flexible outpatient programming is designed to help you stay grounded, continue growing and move through the year with clarity and intention.

This season, consider what habits you want to keep, and what you’re ready to let go of. If you need support, reach out to us today: https://bit.ly/4avu2VF.
