The spring backyard garden harvest was beyond good to us this season! The banana peppers even made it onto a few dinner plates at a nearby restaurant 🥰

Now that summer is here, I am ripping out some of the plants that are past their prime and nurturing what gets to stay.

☀️ Hello, Summer Solstice! 🌻

Saturday marked the longest day of the year — the official start of summer and a perfect reminder to slow down, soak in the sunshine, and savor the season’s freshest flavors.

From juicy tomatoes and crisp cucumbers to sweet peaches and vibrant squash — summer produce is at its peak. There’s no better time to shop your local farmers market and enjoy fruits + veggies that were picked just hours before hitting the table.

🌽🍑 Supporting local farmers means fresher food, stronger communities, and fewer miles from field to fork. Let’s celebrate the season by eating what the Earth is offering right now.

Since Sunday 6/29 is the 5th Sunday of the month, we will be seeing you in July at from 9-1pm.

What’s your go-to summer produce? 💬👇

Tomatoes aren’t just delicious — their vines give off a distinct, earthy aroma that fills the garden, especially after pruning. It’s one of my favorite parts of growing them. I must admit though, the yield has been low this year due to the squirrels & my garden gnome, Lady, who loves to pick them off the vine & enjoy them on the spot ready or not 🥰

Fun fact: Green heirloom tomatoes aren’t unripe red ones — many varieties, like Green Zebra and Aunt Ruby’s German Green, are fully mature and green when ripe! 🍅✨

Peep the video to see another big ripe tomato conquered by the well fed neighborhood squirrels. Can’t say I blame them though.

🌿 Low-Sugar Smoothies: Good, But Not Great as a Meal Replacement 🥤⁣

In the warmer months, we love a nutrient-packed, low-sugar smoothie in this house, my daughter, too — they’re quick, refreshing, and a great way to sneak in some more nutrients. BUT… when it comes to replacing a full meal, they often fall short. ⁣

Here’s why:
✅ They may have fiber, antioxidants, and hydration
🚫 But they often lack enough protein, healthy fats, and calories to truly satisfy or sustain you for long.⁣

Think of it more as a snack or a supplement — not the star of the show. For example, if some of my meals were a bit protein or fat deficient, this is a great place to fill those gaps.

Some of my favorite smoothie additions include:
🥚 Quality protein (like Greek yogurt, protein powder, , cottage cheese, kefir)
🥑 Healthy fats (like nut butter, seeds, or avocado)
🍓 Carbs with fiber (like frozen organic berries, frozen cauliflower, green peas or butternut squash, GF oats, or greens)

I woke up Sunday morning with the family cold & even though I wanted to be on the couch all day I made sure we had a few moments in the sunshine.

I can always count on this little one to play in the garden with me. She may have picked a few not so ready tomatoes but luckily she ate a few too. 🍅

A few other wellness focused remedies I will be doing for the next few days:
-increasing my water & mineral intake
-increasing my vitamin C, vitamin D/K, glutathione intake
-gargling with ozonated filtered water {thank you for reminding me of this lovely bubbler trick}
-napping when my daughter naps {lol, I do this one already}
- to the throat/chest
- head cold homeopathies {if I had a wet cough I’d be using an expectorant instead}
-sunshine a few times daily
-colloidal silver in my saline nasal spray
- propolis throat spray

That’s all for now, folks!

Who knew veggies could be this festive?
These Easter eggs were dyed using all-natural colors straight from the kitchen—beets, red cabbage, turmeric, and more.

Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also a fun, non-toxic alternative to store-bought dyes.

Want to try it yourself?
Hop over to the link in my bio for the full recipe + dye guide!

Hope to see you all this Sunday at from 9-1pm in the heart of

One of the loveliest things about food is how it changes with the seasons. Spring produce is starting to appear at & , bringing vibrant greens, crisp radishes, and sweet peas. Watching the shift from hearty winter veggies to fresh, delicate flavors is a reminder of nature’s rhythm—and an invitation to nourish ourselves accordingly.

Why eat seasonal spring produce? Foods like radishes, arugula, and strawberries are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that support detoxification, hydration, and immune health—just what our bodies crave after winter! Plus, eating in-season means better flavor, more nutrients, and a lower environmental impact.

What spring produce are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments!
