🤔 “What do therapy sessions actually look like?”
If you’ve ever wondered that—you’re not alone. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know what to expect. Let’s break it down step-by-step so you know exactly what happens:
🧾 Step 1: Talk with Dominique
After calling or emailing our office, you’ll start by chatting with our amazing office manager, Dominique. She’ll collect some basic info—like your demographics, insurance details, and a little about what’s bringing you to therapy. This helps her match you with the best-fit therapist for your needs.
📞 Step 2: Connect with your therapist
Once matched, your therapist will give you a call to schedule your first appointment. This is a great time to ask any questions or share more about yourself, if you feel comfortable.
🖥️🏠 Step 3: Get set up
After scheduling, you’ll receive some forms to complete. Then it’s time for your session—either in person at one of our cozy offices, or from the comfort of your home via a secure virtual session.
🛋️ Step 4: The first session (a.k.a. the intake)
During this first meeting, your therapist will get to know you—asking about your background, current challenges, and what you'd like to work on. It’s all about laying the groundwork in a safe, supportive space.
