Rehab Success at Brandywine Howell

When Ed came to Brandywine Howell, he required a two-person assist with a Hoyer lift. His goal was clear—he wanted to go home.
With the dedication of our on-site rehab team, including our amazing therapist Mansi, and Ed’s own determination, progress came step by step—literally. From wheelchair to walker, to rollator, to cane… and finally to climbing 15 stairs and transferring into a car on his own.
Our therapists even visited Ed’s home to help him set it up for his needs, ensuring a smooth and safe transition.
“I leave Brandywine with a new feeling that I can accomplish anything I truly set my heart on… The change from being wheeled into Brandywine to walking out.” – Ed

Last week our team conducted a staged elopement drill—and we’re proud to say it went exactly as planned! These safety drills are a crucial part of our commitment to keeping every resident safe, prepared, and well cared for.

Staff responded quickly and calmly, following protocol with precision and teamwork. While we hope we never face a real-life situation, it’s reassuring to know we’re ready if we do.

We brought some mid-year holiday cheer to Brandywine Howell with our festive Christmas in July celebration! Residents exercised their minds with Christmas-themed brain games, joined in singing cheerful carols, and helped assemble thoughtful gift bags for our local First Responders. It was a great day filled with joy, community spirit, and giving back! ✨🚓 🚒 🚑✨
