This will always be my WHY! ...I can still hear the petrified scream in her voice, through the phone, on that cruel early morning when their life changing results came in (2013). The disbelief in my brothers eyes when I pulled up to their home. I couldn't even look at him anymore... I even attempted to get back in my car to drive away, thinking this can not be happening, this must be a bad dream and if I drive away I could escape it. I felt they pain in their hearts; a surreal feeling I can not describe... and I am only just the aunt. .. My PJ and Jamesy are only 3 weeks apart, the reality was gut wrenching. The feelings my brother and Karen feel every day; no parent should ever know. Jamesy was only 4 years old when Duchenne arrived their door uninvited!

I applaud my brother, James and Karen for staying strong and moving forward to do whatever they can to save their beautiful baby boys life. My brother literally climbs mountains to spread awareness in the hopes to raise enough funds to slow the progression of DMD. Every day that passes is detrimental. Please donate what you can , today
