Thank you to everyone who attended our Parkinson’s Moving to Live education class this week! A special thank you to Elaine Ptacek for presenting, and congratulations to Clara Lou Spillman for winning the door prize! Your participation and support help keep these programs strong and meaningful for our community.

Don’t forget — the 4th Annual Parkinson’s “Moving to Live” Fall Conference is coming up Saturday, September 13th at the City Limits Convention Center in Colby. This is a free event with expert speakers, resources, and lunch provided.

Classes will also start back up next week at the Sheridan County Public Health Department, so be sure to join us for fitness, education, music, and conversation!

As school and fall sports gear back up, it’s important to remember that more than 30,000 sports-related eye injuries occur in the U.S. each year. These injuries can include corneal abrasions, retinal damage, fractures around the eye socket, and even ruptured eyeballs.

The good news is that most eye injuries are preventable with proper protective eyewear. If you or your child are participating in sports this season, talk with your eye care provider about the best protection options.

Last week, we were honored to host two evening education classes right here in our community!

🚒 Sheridan County Fire Department joined us for a Mental Health Communication training led by High Plains Mental Health.

👶 The community also came together to learn about Infant & Toddler Services from the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center.

For those who were unable to attend the Infant & Toddler Services class, we’re attaching the slides from the presentation so you can still access the valuable information shared.
