The Mysterious Death of Jason Kautz

On 6-9-2021 Jason Kautz was found dead in his home in Opelousas Louisiana located in St.Landry Parish which he shared with his girlfriend & children..

Jason Kautz Death was Ruled a Su***de by self-inflicted gun shot wound..

It was reported that Mr.Kautz put a gun in his mouth & pulled the trigger..

After viewing the LE body cam footage with audio & the Death Scene Photo's there are several questions unanswered...

LE followed all Protocals in securing the House & the Death Room...

In gathering evidence & taking photo's even though of poor quality everything was fine..

What is missing is video footage or photo of the Death Gun..

The Victims Mother : Shelia Kautz was told by LE three different calibur's of the gun that was the death gun..

First claiming it was a 22 & then it was a 38 before they settled on the gun being a 9mm..

There is conflicting reports of where the bullet entered & where it exited..

We havent seen any video footage or photo's of the entrance or exit wound of the bullet...

It seems that one Detective might have been looking for another Cause of Death when asking the Victim's Mother if her Son had any lifting weights in his bedroom...

LE didnt conduct a simple Gun Shot Residue Test on Jason Kautz body or clothing..

No Autopsy was conducted on the Victim's body for the Victim was taken directly to the Funeral Home..

LE didnt conduct any tests to determine the path of the bullet..

The bullet entered Jason's head & exited the head hitting a ceiling fan blade & hitting the dry-wall ceiling & the bullet came to rest along side of Jason's left foot..

Mja questions these findings because of the position of the Victim's body & the Blood Spatter we can see..

Blood Evidence :

Mja did recover image's of Blood Spatter but the quality is so poor you cant determine the pattern of the Blood Spatter..

The major pool of blood seems to be coming from the back of the Victim's head running in the direction of the bathroom door..

This brings into question what position was the body in when the fatal bullet was fired ?

The LE body cam footage is very telling :

The Victim : Jason Kautz left arm & upper left shoulder were under the bed...

Mja questions the position of the Body !!

Each Officer that arrived at the scene with their body cam's on asked questions of each person they encountered...

LE didnt officially question people who were Adults & Children at the residence or afterward...

It seems there were several People in the residence or outside of the residence when Jason Kautz's death took place...

Whats telling not one witness said they heard a gun shot...

The LE body cam footage never shows a gun near the body & the audio everyone is asking each other & asking Jason's girlfriend " Where is the Gun " ?

The answer was : I dont know !!

No gun was ever video taped & it doesnt appear in the photo's...

The question is where is the Death Gun ?

LE body cam footage you can hear audio that two guns were found in the bathroom...

These guns couldnt have been used by Mr.Kautz for they were a few feet away from the him..

It was never stated what type of guns were found in the bathroom..

Its our understanding that Jason's relationship with his girlfriend was very rocky with the girlfriend being the abuser toward Jason..

It got so bad that Jason started recording the fights to have proof & document who was being the disruptive party..

Jason's girlfriend has changed her story several times on where she was located when she heard what she thought was a gun shot..

Each different story puts her closer to the death scene..

The LE body cam footage of Jason's girlfriend we never got a clear view of her eyes to see if she was actually crying for she kept covering her face or would look away from the the body cam..

Mja feels the girlfriends body language was over the top with her loud cry's & sob's...

Something wasnt right !!

The girlfriend claimed to the Victim's Mother that there was a video of the whole thing for they had a video camera in the bedroom..

The girlfriend hasnt produced that video footage...

Before Jason's death he was confirming the final details for a Family Vacation that he had planned..

No investigation was done concerning the circumstances of how the events took place on 6-9-2021...

There is Evidence that is Absent of what you should find if you put a gun in your mouth & shot yourself ...

Mja hasnt seen any evidence that states law enforcement are correct in their findings of the events that took place on 6-9-2021..

At this time taking everything we have on the case Mja would have to rule the Death of Jason Kautz had some type of Foul Play involved...

Its premature to label Jason's Death a Homicide & we plan on carrying our Investigation to the next level ...

We want to give a Special shout out to one of newest staff member LMc who was once a Client & when her case was resolved she became a staff member & recently she got her Private Investigator License...

Mja gave her an assignment of trying to find possible Victims of convicted Child Serial Killer David E Penton...She went above & beyond her assignment...

She bought the book written about Penton called the Boogyman by Steve Jackson...

Harper started reading the book online when it came out but it was filled with False Info so he stopped reading it...

Well come to find out Mja : Mark Harper is in the book on pages 212 & 213 & she sent Mja a snap shot of those pages..

But once again Jackson didnt get the facts correct stating Harper was from Maine when in fact Harper was from NY & that Harper was an amateur Private Investigator when in fact Harper was a seasoned Investigator starting in 1979...

But the point is LMc is an asset for Mja who is just amazing & we are looking forword to working with her & cant wait to see what she digs up on her next assignment....

Mja as of 6-1-2025 our Volunteer Group has been operating for 24 years & we have shared a lot of success…

Mja considers it an Honor to work on the Cases that we do which about 97 percent of these Cases are ColdCases with no active Investigation or Media coverage until we got involved..

We have been blessed with 46 amazing Educated Staff members & wonderful Clients / Law-Enforcement & Media contacts…

Mja is proud of the fact that some Law-Enforcement Departments have turned over to Mja sensitive material on Unsolved Cases that’s never been released to the Public & none of our Staff has ever leaked that Info to anyone or posted it on the Internet..

This is why several Law-Enforcement Departments trust Mja with such Info…

Some of our Clients are the reason why Mja grew so fast for many of them seen our work first hand on location & would put Mja in contact with other Families that needed our type of services…

Some of those Clients being Patti Bishop / the late Becky Sherrill / Royce Eckley & Martha Hamilton who were & are our strongest supporters…

Mja travels to 17 States on location to work on our Cases…

In 24 years there has been only 5 times where we weren’t able to carry out our meetings with Clients & Law-Enforcement & our work due to circumstances beyond our control..

Mja openly admits that the 114 Cases we work on to this date we have 5 Clients that are not to Happy with our work on their Loved One’s Case up to this point…

But that only makes Mja work harder on those Cases…

It has been an Honor for Mja to work with other Volunteer Groups such as Boots On The Ground / Together We Stand & Team Hope…

Mja is Honored to be consultants on Cases for Together We Stand who fights Social Injustice & Wrongful Convictions…

Thanks to Mja Staff Member Dan Kincaid Mja is certified by Colleges across the Nation that Criminal Justice Students who have to do an 140 hour Internship to get their Degree are able to do those hours with Mja…

Our Staff have to grade these Students on the work they do at Mja & those grades are turned over to the Students Teachers…

To date Mja has had 3 Students Dan being the first & 2 of those 3 joined Mja..

On 1-2-2026 we have 5 Students enrolled to do their Internship with Mja..

It’s a wonderful Program …

Mja doesn’t charge for our services its our Staff’s that uses their own money & time to do our work…

But there are times that Mja gains Donations from some Clients & when that happens Mja has agreement with the IRS that money would be used for some type of Educational Event for Children..

Mja would host the educational events for the Children..

At this point Mja is funded to host these educational events until December of 2027…

During the years of our service these Donations has made a lot of Children very Happy & our Staff gets to witness this happiness first hand…

Its just Priceless !!!

Yes Mja has been blessed to be in the position to help where ever we can & we will continue to do so & we will be more active in the coming years…

Mja Florida staff arrived home safely yesterday at around 4pm...

We are very sorry that our time in NY & Indiana didnt go as planned...

We had nothing but Bad-Luck this trip causing Mja to have to cancel meetings with Law-Enforcement & with some of our Clients...

We just couldnt catch a break to make up for the time we lost / Sorry.....

Next year we hope to have a productive year...
