We in Memory Care have been celebrating the season of apples! In our Fun with Food activity we had an Apple tasting with five different types of apples. We discussed the different flavor profiles of each one, the consistency, and which ones we liked the best.

In crafts, we did apple painting and stamping onto tea towels and made little hanging Apple decorations out of wood rounds.

The last week in September brought Rosh Hashanah where we discussed the Holiday, listened to the blowing of the Shofar and enjoyed the traditional round Challah bread along with apples in honey.

We’re excited to usher in the fall season with all of its colorful and delicious offerings!

Even though the temperatures feel more like Summer, we in memory care are celebrating Fall. Our latest craft was a puzzle piece Autumn tree artwork that will be displayed throughout the season for everyone to enjoy!

In August we embarked on an artistic journey to create a masterpiece. The residents learned the steps and process for making pine cone flower art. It took us three weeks from start to finish. We cut and painted the pine cones the first week, cut and painted the birch branches to be used as stems the second week, and put it all together on the third week. It turned out great! Now we enjoy our beautiful work of art hanging in the living room. Make sure to check it out on your next visit!
