Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home

Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Providing Hudson with seamless, full-service funeral and cremation services since 1970. These sections are still available for flat memorials.

Grace Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home was founded in 1970 by Melvin Scherer, a retired Air Force colonel who invested in real estate in the early 1960s. As a community resident who attended many services at Hudson Cemetery, he recognized the need for a new cemetery for the community. At Grace Memorial, the main goal was to have a respectful, peaceful place to honor loved ones – one that would always be maintained. This was best accomplished in the 1970s by creating sections that were specific to a faith or organization. In the 1980s, mausoleum entombment became a prominent request. Today, the cemetery features five mausoleum complexes.

Growth doesn’t always happen overnight.

Sometimes it’s gradual. Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it takes longer than we expect.

April reminds us that steady progress still counts.

A small note today can prevent big confusion later. 📝

Pre-planning doesn’t mean making every decision right now. It can start with something simple, like writing down music preferences, readings, burial or cremation wishes, or who should be notified.

Those small details give your family clarity when emotions are high and decisions feel heavy.

If you’d like to learn more about pre-planning funeral arrangements, we’re here to answer questions and walk you through your options with no pressure.

Support doesn’t always arrive in big ways.

Sometimes it looks like a message at the right time, a familiar voice, or someone simply checking in. These moments can make a difference, especially when things feel heavy or uncertain.

If you’re moving through a difficult stretch, this is a reminder that you don’t have to carry it alone.

Save this post if it helps, or pass it along to someone who may need the reminder today. 💛

As days get busier and routines fill back up, it can be easy to feel like everything is moving faster than we are.

Staying mindful doesn’t always mean slowing everything down. Sometimes it’s as simple as noticing a moment of quiet, stepping outside, or permitting yourself to pause before the next thing.

💬 If you feel like sharing, what helps you stay mindful and grounded when life feels busy?

What makes a service meaningful often comes down to the details.

For many families, it’s the music that feels familiar, a personal story shared, a favorite photo on display, or a moment that reflects who someone truly was. These small choices can create a sense of connection and help people feel seen and supported.

This post offers a reminder that meaning isn’t found in perfection; it’s found in what feels genuine.

Save this if it’s something you’d like to reflect on.

As March comes to a close, we’re curious about the conversations you’d want around the table.

If you could invite three people, living or from history, to a March-themed dinner party, who would they be? Maybe someone who inspires you, someone you miss, or someone you’d simply love to hear stories from. 🌸

💬 Share your three below if you’d like. We’re always interested in seeing who others would choose.

Uncertainty can make the next step feel harder than it needs to be.

Sometimes the most helpful thing isn’t having everything figured out, but choosing one thoughtful step and letting that be enough for today.

You can move at your own pace. Whenever you’re ready to explore planning resources, guidance is available to help you take the next step.

A preplanning consultation is simply a conversation, designed to help you understand your options and think through what matters most to you.

Many people arrive with questions, a few notes, or just a general sense that they want more clarity. There’s no expectation to have everything prepared. The goal is to talk things through at a comfortable pace and make the process feel easier to navigate.

This carousel walks through what a consultation typically includes and why many families find it helpful to start with a conversation rather than making decisions.

Save this post to revisit when the timing feels right, or explore more information whenever you’re ready. ✨
