💬 Correct. It’s simple, sincere, and always appropriate. It acknowledges their pain without assuming or minimizing.

“Let me know if you need anything.”
🚫 Too vague. Most grieving people won’t know how to respond or feel comfortable asking for help. Specific offers work better.

“At least they lived a long life.”
🚫 Minimizing. Age doesn’t lessen the loss. This can feel dismissive, even if well-intended.

“I brought lasagna, a kazoo, and three goats.” 🐐
🚫 Clearly off-the-wall. Funny, but not funeral-appropriate (unless it was an inside joke… maybe).
