🌍 September 29 marks the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW): A call for action to reduce waste across the food system and build a more sustainable future.

At CIRANDA, we’re proud to play our part. Last year, we:

✅ Diverted 457,000 pounds of product away from landfills through reuse, recycling, and responsible repurposing.
✅ Partnered with brokers and certified recyclers to ensure environmentally responsible disposal.
✅ Ensured only 0.03% of product ultimately went to landfill.

Food loss and waste account for up to 10% of global GHG emissions, making this work critical not only for sustainability but also for global food security.

Together again for an unforgettable week at our HQ!

Earlier this month, we came together for CIRANDA Connection Week. It was awesome to have everyone together celebrating, reflecting, and having fun. From recapping the year and giving back to our community, to enjoying each other’s company and hitting the pavement for our annual fun run/walk, it was a week full of energy.

Turns out, team bonding counts as cardio too! 😆

Our team spent the day volunteering at the Farm at Camp St. Croix and saw firsthand what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. We flipped beds, pulled tomato plants, weeded, and prepped tunnels for winter crops. Work that would normally take weeks we were able to finish in a few hours!

More than the tasks, it was about being together and supporting a place that gives so much to our community. It reminded us how important it is to stay connected to each other, the land, and the people around us.

Giving back is woven into our values. In 2024 alone, our team dedicated 524 collective volunteer hours to causes close to our hearts, and we donated 2.5% of our net profit to nonprofit organizations that are creating meaningful change around the globe.

🌍 Today is World Humanitarian Day, and we’re reminded that real change happens when people step up. It’s more than just numbers - it’s the heart of who we are!
