HCA Florida Trinity Hospital performed the first single-port robotic thoracic surgery in Tampa Bay on Monday, September 29 marking another minimally invasive thoracic surgery advancement for the facility. Thoracic surgeon Mathew Ninan, MD, successfully completed the first single-port lung cancer surgery on a patient using the advance robotic technology. “Congratulations to our surgical team and Dr. Ninan for being at the forefront of surgical advancements,” said Mike Irvin, CEO of HCA Florida Trinity Hospital. “This is a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to our patients in providing the best surgical options for their recovery and outcomes.”
