I get asked a lot why I don’t eat pork anymore or I don’t drink alcohol anymore since recently becoming Seventh Day Adventist.
The answer is not because I’ve been baptized. Being baptized is the best decision of my life, however, just because I’ve been baptized doesn’t mean I have to follow rules. I have learned to have a daily relationship with Jesus and through that comes obedience.
In Leviticus 10:8-11 God is telling Aaron not to drink wine or fermented drinks so that we can distinguish between the holy and the common. Further down in chapter 11 verse 44 God says “be holy because I am holy.”
I am choosing to be as holy as I can by listening to the one who knows what is good and what is bad for my body, what is clean and what is unclean. Nobody knows our bodies more than the creator himself. Scientists and doctors are still discovering things that God himself already knows. As I am learning more and more about nutrition for the body, the one thing I know for sure is that it’s constantly changing. One year eggs are bad for you and the next year they’re a superfood🤷🏼♀️
To us humans, it’s complicated, but to our creator, it’s simple. In Leviticus 11 he tells us what’s good for our bodies and what’s bad, what’s clean and what’s unclean.
My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and I choose to serve the Lord🙏♥️
My hope is that by spreading my knowledge on nutrition and the Bible, others will find Jesus and give their lives to Him.
