Power simply means to be explosive while performing particular exercises. The first thing that we lose as we age is this sort of fast twitch response, that enables us to resist forces and move quickly through space. We often find ourselves in particular situations that require us to exert force rather quickly, such as carrying something upstairs. Training for power will also provide us with the ability to decelerate a particular load upon demand whether you’re exercising, walking down stairs, or need to regain your balance in a given situation.
