💥 If your imaging is “normal” but you’re still in pain, you’re not imagining it.

⚡ Here’s the truth: chronic pain can linger because the nervous system stays stuck in protection mode long after the original injury has healed.

🌱 On today’s River Points Podcast, Dr. Barbie Wasson explains why pain patterns persist and how acupuncture helps calm overactive nerves, release stored tension, and teach the body it’s safe again.

🌸When scans fall silent, we still listen.

Living with pain that refuses to show up on X-rays or MRIs can feel confusing, frustrating, and even invalidating, but your pain is real.

This blog breaks down why chronic pain often persists even when imaging looks normal, how the nervous system and protective patterns can keep pain alive long after an injury heals, and why approaches like acupuncture that calm overactive nerves and improve communication can make a real difference. 🌿✨

🌸 If your labs are “normal” but your hormones feel anything but… this one’s for you.

🌺 Hormone symptoms don’t happen in isolation, they’re a communication issue between your brain, ovaries, adrenals, thyroid, and gut.

🌷 On today’s River Points Podcast, Dr. Barbie Wasson explains why stress scrambles that conversation and how acupuncture helps restore balance.

If you’re tired but wired, your thoughts race, and sleep never feels deep…

You’re not broken.

Anxiety doesn’t start as a mindset problem. It starts as a nervous system problem.

On today’s RiverPoint Podcast, Dr. Barbie Wasson explains how acupuncture helps calm the nervous system, reduce reactivity, and retrain the body to feel safe again.

About River Point

My Story...

The number one question I get asked is: “What made you decided to become an acupuncturist?” It’s true, Acupuncture is definitely a unique choice for a career, but for me however, it was a “no-brainer.”

Many acupuncturists get into their careers through amazing personal experiences they have had with the medicine. They might have had a severe injury or illness and acupuncture was the one thing they could rely on more than any other medical approach.

This has inspired many acupuncture careers and it makes for a great story of hope for many people, but that’s not what happened with me. In fact, I can count on one hand the amount of acupuncture treatments I had received when I started my Masters in Acupuncture.
