CFRT Coaches Spotlight. Coach Katlyn!!!!👏🏻🔥

❓When did you first start CrossFit? And when did you join the CFRT community?
I first started CrossFit in 2016 at CrossFit Worcester and joined CFRT in September of 2022!

❓What inspired you to become a coach?
The idea of coaching had always been something that hung out in the back of my mind. With a some encouragement from Coach Sam and my mental game of “what’s the worst that could happen” I took the leap. I figured at least I’d gain knowledge out of the seminar and become a better athlete. To my luck things happen to fall right into place at CFRT.

❓How long have you been coaching?
2 years this September!

❓What’s your favorite part about coaching at CFRT?
Watching members grow from the start. Of course I LOVE all members, however it’s different when you get to see them from their day one of their fitness journey and obviously listening to music all class and dancing.

❓What’s one fun fact people might not know about you?
That I’m actually quite crafty. I love pottery and photography and can make a leather wallet by hand.

❓What’s your go-to hype song during a workout?
Anything from the emo high school phase 🤣 “Underoath radio”

❓Favorite CrossFit movement?
Alternating dumbbell sn**ch

❓Least favorite movement? 😅
Renegade rows! 😤

❓What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Take it slow and don’t get discouraged if there are things that feel hard or complex in the beginning. With time, the lingo, movements and pace of things will become second nature.

❓What do you like to do outside the gym?
Go on last minute adventures! I love hiking, the mountains, the ocean, wildlife and seeing the world. They are especially fun when they are planned last minute!!

❓What’s your favorite post-workout meal or treat?
Mott’s fruit snacks 😋
