👋 Last but not least—Miss Courtney!

Courtney is the founder of Early Foundations and one of the speech-language pathologists on the team.

She has a special passion for infant and toddler feeding, but also works with children of all ages on a wide range of needs—including picky eating, articulation, early language development, and myofunctional therapy. She loves helping kids build skills and confidence in ways that truly carry over into daily life.

Courtney is always learning and growing—staying up to date on the latest evidence-based treatment techniques to make sure her therapy is both effective and meaningful for every child she works with.

After years of working in pediatric settings, she opened Early Foundations to create a private practice that felt different, intentionally small, deeply supportive, and rooted in relationships. She wanted a place where parents and kids could truly get to know their therapist, feel the intentionality behind each session, and experience support that goes far beyond the treatment room.

One of her favorite parts? Early Foundations is located right in the community where Courtney grew up and still lives today. Running into current and former patients around town is a sweet reminder of the lasting impact of this work and always makes her day!

Outside of work, Courtney is a wife to Brian and mom to three girls Avery, Kambrie, and Hayden. As a family, they love exploring Michigan, soaking up time outdoors, going on vacations, and staying rooted in their church community.

She’s proud of what Early Foundations has become and deeply thankful for the families who trust her team to walk alongside them! 🥰

👋Say hello to Miss Jessica!

Jessica is a speech-language pathologist who’s passionate about helping kids build confident, functional communication through play-based, child-led therapy.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Central Michigan University and her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Grand Valley State University.

Jessica has experience in a variety of settings, including schools, private practice, outpatient pediatrics, and early intervention.

She’s especially passionate about play-based therapy and has pursued continuing education in areas like autism spectrum disorder, gestalt language processing, and evidence-based approaches for speech sound disorders including Cycles, Complexity, and /R/ therapy. Jessica connects so well with the kids she works with and always finds a way to make sessions fun and engaging.

Outside of therapy, you’ll find her walking her dogs Callie and Cooper, spending time with family and friends, taking cycling classes, traveling, or scouting out the best coffee shops in town!

It’s such a joy having Miss Jessica on our team! 🥰

👋Say hi to Miss Stacy!

Stacy is a speech-language pathologist with over 11 years of experience, and she’s been with Early Foundations for the past 3 years!

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Hope College and her master’s from Western Michigan University. Along the way, she’s worked in a variety of settings and has loved mentoring grad students and new SLPs just starting out.

Stacy’s favorite areas to treat include early intervention, articulation, fluency, and myofunctional therapy. She has a special interest in myofunctional therapy and loves how it allows her to look at the whole picture and really digging deeper to understand the root of a child’s challenges and tailoring therapy in a way that truly fits.

She loves the variety that comes with this job and says the most exciting part is seeing progress, whether it’s a child saying their very first word or finally nailing a tricky sound they’ve been working on together.

For Stacy, forming strong, meaningful connections with kids and their families is what makes this work so special.

When she’s not in the therapy room, she’s probably off on a camping adventure somewhere in Michigan with her husband and two kids soaking up sunshine, s’mores, and family time.

We love having Miss Stacy on the Early Foundations team!🥰

👋Meet Miss Riley!

Riley is a pediatric speech-language pathologist who’s passionate about helping kids find their voice and thrive through meaningful, functional communication.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Central Michigan University and her master’s from Michigan State University.

Riley has experience in both clinic and school settings, and she specializes in supporting children with speech, language, and AAC needs. In addition to her work here at Early Foundations she also works for a durable medical equipment company, where she helps families access the assistive technology and support they need to succeed in daily life.

What she loves most about being an SLP? Building strong relationships with the kids and families she serves, and making therapy fun, functional, and collaborative every step of the way with each child’s unique needs at the center of her care.

Outside of work, Riley enjoys reading historical fiction, taking long walks, trying new recipes, and exploring local coffee shops. Gardening is her latest hobby (since buying a house earlier this year!), and she loves spending time up north at her family’s cottage in Charlevoix. She shares her home with her husband and their sweet golden retriever, Poppy.

Fun fact: she loves gummy candy and has big dreams of visiting Switzerland and Australia someday!

We’re so grateful to have Riley on the Early Foundations team! 🥰

👋 Say hello to Erin!

Erin is one of our awesome speech-language pathologists here at Early Foundations. She’s originally from Illinois, where she earned her degrees from Elmhurst and Northern Illinois University. Three years ago, she made the move to West Michigan. She’s loving life here with her husband, Garrett, and their two adorable dogs, Mixie and Freyja 🐾

Erin brings six years of experience in both schools and private practice, and she loves working with a wide range of kids. But if you ask her, there’s something extra special about getting down on the floor and playing with early communicators!

She also provides feeding therapy--especially for picky eaters who need a little extra support (and patience!) at mealtimes.

When she’s not in the therapy room, you’ll likely find her reading a good book, baking something delicious, or out walking in the fresh air.

We’re so blessed to have Erin as part of the Early Foundations family! 🥰
