Since OTWH doesn’t have a facility yet I would really like to make some Christmas gifts for about 100 guys at a local reentry house near me. If you can help us by donating we would be extremely grateful. You can donate by Venmo or PayPal or purchase something off our Amazon wish list.

🧡 A Thanksgiving Message from Kelly, Founder of On The Way Home 🧡

As we gather around tables today—some full, some missing a cherished seat—I want to take a moment to hold space for every family touched by incarceration.
For the parents with an empty chair, the children missing a hug, the loved ones waiting on a phone call that never feels long enough—you are seen, you are valued, and you are not forgotten.

Thanksgiving can be a beautiful reminder of gratitude, but it can also be a tender day for so many. At On The Way Home, we stand with every family navigating this season with mixed emotions. Your strength, your patience, and your love—even stretched across distance—matter more than you know.

And to those still on their journey home: there is hope, there is healing, and there is a community ready to walk with you. Every day brings new possibility, and we remain committed to creating pathways home, restoring dignity, and rebuilding futures.

Today, I am grateful for:
🧡 The families who continue to believe
🧡 The individuals fighting for a second chance
🧡 The partners and supporters who make our mission possible
🧡 The hope that grows even in difficult places

From my family to yours, and from all of us at On The Way Home—
Happy Thanksgiving. May today bring peace, connection, and the reminder that no one walks this road alone.

We would like to thank everyone who stepped in and helped us provide items for a lady recently released from prison. Yall helped us raise enough to be able to provide her all the toiletries she needed and to cover shipping costs to get them to her. She was also able to get her insurance and is now good to go.

Again, thank you all who helped us be able to provide.

Our new website is finally up and fully functional. Please go check it out.

We have a client reach out to us who has just recently been released from Tutwiler. She is diabetic and asthmatic and was released without her medication. Is there anyone who could offer some suggestions or contacts of how to help her get her meds. She’s in the Dothan area.

We are currently offering Case management and Parole planning and support services.

What that means is that we can help by walking individuals through planning a parole packet to send to the parole board and give them a template to go by (depending on the prison they are at I have some in the law libraries). I can review their documents for packet and compile it as well as send it off for themof needed. I can facilitate finding housing and securing a housing acceptance letter, find if there are any available programs near where they will be that they need, provide basic essentials upon release, and assist them in finding any other resources they may need.

You can email us at kelly@otwhreentry.org.

Thank you all who participated in our online auction it was a great success. Money raised will go to provide basic necessities to those leaving prison.
