March is National Nutrition Month, nutrition is one of the biggest factors in wound healing. Even with perfect wound care, healing can stall if the body doesn’t have the right nutrients.

When you have a wound, your body shifts into repair mode. It needs extra fuel to: Build new tissue (skin, collagen), Fight infection, Reduce inflammation, Maintain blood flow and oxygen delivery. Without proper nutrition, wounds can heal slowly, incompletely, or not at all.
