How do you begin a post where words really can’t express the weariness of the soul.
To Sioux County- a fire that stunned a community by Granville that claimed the lives of three young people, seriously wounded another and left a young survivor; the emergency responders, my deputies, a 9-1-1 dispatcher and so many teachers, students and medical providers.
Another traffic accident between Rock Valley and Hull that took one young life and left one critically wounded; and again exposed more emergency responders to the grave reality of what it means to volunteer their talents-and yet we pray, surround and try to comfort. We don’t have the answers, but we seek the One who does.
We will always remember. 💔
To the world- you took the life of a man who used his voice for good and truth. He wanted to be known for showing courage in faith and speaking courageously about his faith. He will always be remembered for that. Well done Charlie Kirk. Well done.
You have not silenced his voice. You have amplified it.
We will always remember. 💔
To the young girl in the subway, whose life was taken in an inexplicable act of senseless violence; you are not forgotten. We see you. We will continue to fight to protect innocent lives.
We will always remember. 💔
9/11- on this , a day 24 years ago meant to cripple the United States; it did not. It raised awareness of terrorism, hate and evil. Of hiding in plain sight. Of allowing those into our country who seek to harm the U.S. and its citizens. We became stronger. We made changes. 🇺🇸
We will always remember. 💔
On this day where there is “a lot:” I ask that you remember. Remember the victims. Remember the families . Remember the first responders. Remember the glimpses of good. Remember to fight against hate and violence. Remember to pray. ❤️🩹
Remember Faith. Family. Freedom. Remember to speak the truth, boldly.
