At what point do you become responsible?

Some of the most depressed people are still going to work.
Still smiling.
Still answering “I’m good.”
Still taking care of everyone else while silently falling apart inside.

PTSD is not “being dramatic.”
Anxiety is not “overthinking.”
Depression is not “laziness.”

People do not wake up one day and choose emotional exhaustion, panic attacks, emotional numbness, insomnia, hypervigilance, or the inability to feel joy.

Many people are carrying trauma that nobody ever apologized for.

What’s dangerous is that society praises functioning trauma.
If you suffer quietly and remain productive, people call you strong.
The moment your nervous system finally breaks down, they call you unstable.

Healing requires more than motivation quotes and “just think positive.”
It requires honesty. Accountability. Safety. Support. Sometimes medication. Sometimes therapy. Sometimes distance from the people who caused the damage in the first place.

Not everyone fighting mental battles looks broken on the outside.

Some people are surviving wars in their mind while sitting right next to you.
