Honoring Our Heroes This Veterans Day

Today, we take a moment to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, honor, and selflessness. Veterans Day reminds us of the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms and the importance of expressing gratitude to those who have served.

At Avondale, we are especially proud to honor our staff who bravely answered that call:

Halloween was a blast at Avondale!

Our residents and staff had an amazing time celebrating together with pumpkin and costume contests that brought out everyone’s creativity.

Congratulations to our pumpkin contest winners: 1st place, Pumpkin Teddy Bear by Malee Barker; 2nd place, Pumpkin Zombie by Rachel Mayberry; and 3rd place, Pumpkin Granny by Amelia Pewitte.

A big shoutout to our costume contest winner, Mrs. Roper (Tera Terry).

We also celebrated our October Employee of the Month, Dolly Holloway from housekeeping, and recognized our dedicated team members Grant Clark (4 years), Karli Lynch (4 years), and Toshiba Hall (1 year) for their anniversaries.

Everyone had a great time and our residents absolutely loved this celebration!

John Campbell, Administrator, Malee Barker, Director of Hospitality, and Christy Henson, Director of Marketing, set up a fun Tennessee-themed table featuring Vols merch.
