🌟 Team Spotlight: Braelyn Latimore, MS, CF-SLP 🌟

Meet Braelyn Latimore, one of our incredible Speech-Language Pathologists! Braelyn brings passion, warmth, and dedication to everything she does.

💬 “I love how broad and impactful our scope of practice is. Every day, I get to help others communicate more effectively, enjoy meals safely and confidently, and thrive both inside and outside of the clinic. It’s a privilege to support children and their families in such essential parts of their lives. I thoroughly enjoy witnessing their growth along the way.”

📚 Braelyn earned her degrees from James Madison University and Pennsylvania State University, and she’s proud to call Harrisburg and Hershey, PA home. As the youngest of three siblings, family is everything to her — especially spending time with her almost 1-year-old niece! 👶💕

When she's not in the clinic, you’ll often find Braelyn teaching dance — blending her creativity and love of movement into every routine. 💃

🫁💙 Today is World Airway Disorders Day! 💙🫁
Let’s shine a light on the little voices who face BIG airway challenges every day.

👶✨ Our wonderful Pediatric speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are proud to support children with:

🔹 Vocal Cord Paralysis – impacting voice, breathing, and swallowing
🔹 Phonation Difficulties – making it hard for a child to produce clear sounds
🔹 Hoarseness, Breathiness, Weak Voice – often signs of vocal fold issues
🔹 Aspiration & Dysphagia – when food or liquid goes down the wrong way, risking choking or lung infections
🔹 Breathing-Sucking-Swallowing Incoordination – especially in preemies or infants with complex medical needs

Behind each diagnosis is a child learning to eat safely, communicate confidently, and breathe with ease—and a dedicated team helping them every step of the way. 💪💬

🎗️ June is National Dysphagia Awareness Month! 🎗️

Did you know that pediatric dysphagia—difficulty swallowing—can affect infants and children of all ages? From trouble breastfeeding or bottle-feeding to coughing or choking during meals, early signs can be subtle but serious.

At Therapy Connections, we’re shining a light on this important issue to help families recognize the signs and seek support early. 💛

👶 Early signs of pediatric dysphagia may include:

Coughing, choking, or gagging during feeding

Recurrent pneumonia or respiratory issues

Difficulty gaining weight or failure to thrive

Long mealtimes or food refusal

💬 If you suspect your child is having difficulty swallowing, you’re not alone—and help is available. Our excellent feeding specialist, Allison, is here to support your child’s feeding journey with compassion and care.
