Popping on here for an update. I am now practicing at Resilient Health Acupuncture in Hunt Valley and Nottingham! I have a variety of morning, afternoon, and evening availability. We accept most insurances and also offer community acupuncture (sometimes I fill in for community). Community treatment allows you to pay out of pocket at a reduced price and be treated in a cozy recliner in a room with other people.

February 10th, 2024 ushers in a new year in the Chinese calendar. 2024 is the year of the Yang Wood Dragon.

These characteristics allow us to make inferences about what this year could look like.
The Yang nature of this year tells us that it could be a high energy year with lots of movement and activity.
The Wood nature relates to our Liver and Gallbladder organs. It will be important to focus on areas related to motivation and passions, releasing anger and irritability and learning how to better cope with our emotions. It will also be important to focus on using our voices and making decisions that align with our goals.

The Dragon archetype is about transformation and encourages us all to undergo the changes we need to be our best selves. The Dragon corresponds to the Earth energy related to the Stomach organ. Digestion and eating breakfast this year is emphasized--as the Stomach's energetic time is from 7-9 AM.

This year's lucky colors are green, yellow, and red. Red is considered a lucky color in Chinese culture. Green represents the Wood energy of the year. Yellow represents Earth energy which is related to the Stomach organ.

This year is shaping up to be full of vitality and transformation!
Best wishes for your 2024!

Alcohol: It can be a sensitive subject for many.

I've noticed our culture seems to be shifting in the younger generations, especially Millennials and Gen Z. Alcohol use is decreasing and there's more of an interest in drinking less or abstaining.

There is a whole market dedicated to mocktails and drinks containing less alcohol. More bars are seeing a demand for mocktails and welcoming in this clientele.

Depression, anxiety, and excessive drinking often coincide together.

There's a lot that acupuncturists can do to help improve mental health and create healthier habits working with our patients.

Feel free to reach out if you are interested.
This is always a judgment free space.

Happy Summer Solstice! Today is the longest day of the year which makes it the highest Yang energy of the year. Yang energy relates to doing, taking action, and feeling energetic. We can take note of this energy by witnessing our desire to get out more, be active, and engage more socially.

Each season is related to an element in Chinese Medicine. The summer season corresponds to the Fire element. Some of the ways we can tune into this element is to feel the sun on our skin and light a bonfire or candles at night. This energy encourages us to be playful, laugh, and connect with others.

Enjoy the new, uplifting energy of the season! The start of the new season is a great time to receive acupuncture and adjust to the new seasonal energy for optimal wellness.
