Dombrosky Counseling and Grayson Psychiatry are thrilled to announce we will be hosting several PEERs Social Skills Groups this year. The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is a social skills training intervention that support individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other social disorders who have difficulty with peer interactions and relationships.

PEERS® has a strong evidence base for use with adolescents and young adults with ASD but is also appropriate for adolescents and young adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression and other socioemotional challenges. Research has demonstrated that gains made over the course of the program are maintained 3-5 years later.

Just a friendly reminder that social media is not real. Social media is very dangerous to our mental health because it keeps us in a constant state of comparison. We all know the saying that comparison is the thief of joy, but social comparison also increases symptoms of anxiety and depression while decreasing our sense of self-worth. If you find yourself in this position, consider taking a social media break or unfollowing those that make you feel unworthy, less than, or not good enough.
