FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:Jan. 20, 2026COLUMBIA, S.C. ― The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is reporting 88 new cases of measles in the state since Friday, bringing the total number of cases in South Carolina related to the Upstate outbreak to 646.

Exactly this! Vaccines are safe but parents need a safe space to have discussions, air their concerns and have open conversations. They need to ability to vaccinate slower if that makes them more comfortable. Parents need doctors that will partner with them, listen, spend time explaining the science, explain the why and why now. Trust is not built with dictating a mandated schedule in this time of mistrust and misinformation. VACCINES ARE SAFE and needed but parents need to feel that they have a choice and a pediatrician that will walk that road with them whatever their decisions are.

Thirty-three years ago, as a new pediatrician, RWJ CEO Richard Besser had a conversation about vaccines with two parents-to-be. It still sticks with him.

Across the country, confirmed cases are nearing 2,000, closing in on the highest number since 1992.

Do vaccines and Tylenol have any connection to Autism? Absolutely not!! Here is a link to an interview featuring Dr. Jill Grayson, a local child neurologist/psychiatrist with an autism certification, discussing this issue.

The Trump administration has issued confusing instructions about the causes of autism, including cautioning pregnant women not to take acetaminophen. Experts are pushing back, arguing those claims are misguided and insisting there is no causal link between Tylenol and autism. We look at the science....

Our office is currently seeking a skilled nurse to join our team. We have a 4-day per week position available for a warm, friendly, and compassionate nurse (CMA, LPN, or RN) who is comfortable working with patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors over 100. The ideal candidate must also possess phlebotomy skills. Our office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our small office maintains a calm and peaceful environment, with each patient receiving a minimum of 45 minutes of dedicated care.
