Over the years I have watched my family members, friends and my own patients overwhelmed trying every therapy, diet and supplement to prevent or improve symptoms, health and quality of life for themselves or their loved ones from every condition including anxiety, ADHD, depression, cognitive decline, IBS, metabolic issues, obesity, heart disease and ASD/PANS/PANDAS. As an integrative practitioner they would ask me about a plethora of supplements, lifestyle and diet recommendations and all I could say is "yes there is evidence for (blank) but clearly its different for everyone because everybodys body responds differently". There are literally thousands of great supplements but just how many can you swallow? How many can you afford? Maybe that one worked for your friend but does your body even need it? Did you know some people genetically need extremely high doses of Vitamin B12 because
they have a variant that doesn't efficiently allow it to cross the blood brain barrier? The blood serum level is NOT reflective of what is in the cell or the brain. Some people do not convert or metabolize Glutathione, Vitamin D. Some people have less of a beneficial response to SSRI's, statins, certain classes of blood pressure medications. Some people who are currently young and healthy but if we looked, they have an elevated risk of dementia due to having certain inflammatory gene variants and maybe defective detoxification genes. Why did Sally develop autism 1 hour after receiving her MMR and pertussis vaccine but her brother did not? It goes on...
For these reasons I wanted to find a way to provide more precision. (Especially with pediatrics and ASD you often have a small window of cooperation in which to work). For all patients I wanted to find evidence-based interventions that gave the "biggest bang for the buck" for that unique individual.
I researched and realized genomics might take a good part of the guessing game out of the equation but after I tried many different genomic tests for patients they didn't provide actionable or evidence-based results. (Genomics tests are mostly meaningless clinically if there is nothing you can do about the results or the evidence is lacking). This changed over 8 months ago when I found IntellxxDNA. I began training through their genomics university and mentorship. It was so exciting to be able to look at the underlying root causes for a particular individual and see that there is evidence that a certain supplement, herb, diet, medication or lifestyle has been shown to change the expression of a particular risk variant. It doesnt mean DNA can be changed, but it does mean it has the precise potential to decrease symptoms, avoid development of certain conditions and optimize health. Lotus Integrative Healthcare will be closed starting the afternoon of September 12th through September 18th. We will be back in the office on September 19th.

We are asking in advance to please:

1. CHECK YOUR MEDICATION SUPPLIES A WEEK PRIOR TO SEPTEMBER 12th AND PLEASE REQUEST ANY MEDICATION REFILLS IF YOU ARE LOW.

2. IF YOUR CHILD IS NEEDING A FALL SCHOOL PHYSICAL, PLEASE BE SURE TO SELF-SCHEDULE THEM IN THE PORTAL WELL IN ADVANCE OF THIS WEEK OR IT WILL NEED TO WAIT UNTIL AFTER I RETURN.
