What is your nightly routine? Do you take time each night to care for yourself and prepare for the next day? Studies have shown that a consistent nighttime routine can help reduce anxiety and give you better sleep. Also, avoiding electronics 30 minutes before bed can help your nervous system calm down and signal to your mind and body that it’s time for sleep.

Here are some tips to help with your text neck.

1. Improve Posture and Device Use:
• Raise the phone:Instead of bending your neck down to look at your device, bring the device up to eye level.
• Maintain a neutral head position:Try to keep your ears aligned with your shoulders and avoid hunching forward.
• Sit upright:When using a computer, sit with your back straight, shoulders relaxed, and feet flat on the floor.
• Ergonomics:Use a stand or books to elevate your laptop or monitor to eye level.

2. Take Frequent Breaks:
• Set reminders: Use a timer to remind yourself to take breaks every 20-30 minutes.
• Move and stretch: During breaks, stand up, stretch your neck and shoulders, and move around to relieve tension.
• The 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

3. Strengthen Neck and Back Muscles:
• Chin tucks:Sit or stand with your back straight and gently tuck your chin towards your neck, holding for a few seconds.
• Neck stretches:Gently tilt your head from side to side, forward and backward, and rotate your head to stretch your neck muscles.
• Shoulder blade squeezes:Sit upright, squeeze your shoulder blades together, and hold for a few seconds.

Dermatitis herpetiformis causes itchy bumps and burning blisters as a result of a gluten sensitivity that makes your immune system overreact. You may have this condition if you also have celiac disease. Although the bumps on your skin look similar to herpes, you don’t have herpes. Treatment with medications and a gluten-free diet is effective in eliminating symptoms.

Huntersville Network Spinal Care, Dr. Ginni Gross, seeks to advance health by improving the skeletal, muscle, and nervous systems through a wide variety of techniques and approaches. Many are familiar with the “back cracking” kind of adjustments made by chiropractors, but few understand that chiropractic care encompasses many different methods. Dr. Ginni uses light force techniques that address not only pain, tension, and other symptoms, but also address the entire system, helping the person to experience wellness and pain relief in their everyday lives.

Stress can exacerbate psoriasis, Acne, Rosacea, Eczema, and other skin conditions. Calming the nervous system can make a huge difference in your symptoms.

Chiropractic adjustments reduce tension and encourage the release of endorphins, a natural painkiller. Because of this, after a chiropractic treatment, you’ll find yourself more energized after a chiropractic treatment. This helps to reduce the stress on your nervous system and, as a result, helps to relieve some symptoms of psoriasis and other skin conditions.
