When it comes to submental procedures, the most important factor is skin laxity. The best candidates for submental liposuction are younger patients with minimal loose skin, where liposuction can physically remove fat, and technologies like VASER and J-Plasma can add a small amount of skin tightening. For patients with more significant skin laxity, non-invasive options won’t be enough, and the conversation shifts to surgical skin removal with a neck lift to achieve a defined, lasting result.
