A school psychologist plays a key role in helping schools better understand and support students’ learning, behavior, and overall development.
They use observation, assessment, and consultation to understand student needs and translate this information into practical strategies that can be used in the school setting. This may involve working closely with teachers, school leaders, and support teams to identify challenges early and guide appropriate interventions.
Rather than focusing on one area alone, school psychologists look at the bigger picture—how a student learns, interacts, and responds within their environment—and use this understanding to help schools make informed decisions.
At its core, the role is about bridging understanding and action: helping schools respond to student needs in a structured, informed, and supportive way.
