Closing out EMS week us staff would like to give a big thanks to the “silent one” who keeps us afloat. We won’t mention names because well… they don’t like that kind of stuff. We truly appreciate all the hard work and support you give us day to day staff. We know that you don’t need the public thanks but we hope this finds it way to you. So thanks for your support, and lord knows thanks for your patience because we aren’t an easy bunch to deal with.

Congratulations to AEMT Watkins and her husband Brian on the arrival of their first grandson Carter!!

EMT Ben Everhart
Ben’s passion for EMS started at a young age, inspired by his father, who was among the first Paramedics in Huntingdon County. A 4th-generation member of the fire service, Ben began as a junior firefighter with SVFD in 1996, started driving ambulances at 19, became an EMR in 2018, and earned his EMT certification in 2025.
His favorite part of the job is knowing he was able to help someone on one of the worst days of their life. Ben is passionate about caring for those in need and enjoys working alongside his wife, who also fell in love with EMS after being introduced to the field by him.
Outside of HAA, Ben works full-time at Penn Highlands Huntingdon as the Maintenance/Security Supervisor. He and his wife of 16 years have three children, and he is also a life member of Huntingdon Regional Fire/Rescue.
