Did You Know?

Did you know that setting boundaries is not selfish...it's a form of self-respect?

Many people worry that saying "no" will disappoint others. In reality, healthy boundaries help protect your time, energy, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Boundaries can sound like:
✔️ "I'm not available at that time."
✔️ "I need some time to think about that."
✔️ "I'm unable to take that on right now."
✔️ "That doesn't work for me."

Healthy relationships can survive healthy boundaries. In fact, clear boundaries often strengthen relationships by creating honesty, trust, and mutual respect.

* * You can be kind and still have boundaries.

✨ DID YOU KNOW? “Glimmers” Are the Opposite of Triggers ✨

We often hear about triggers—those moments that activate stress, anxiety, or painful memories in our bodies.

But there’s another side to that…

🌿 Glimmers 🌿

Glimmers are small, positive moments that signal to your nervous system: you are safe.

They can be simple and easy to miss if you’re not looking for them:

The warmth of sunlight on your face ☀️

A kind smile from a stranger

A deep breath that feels just a little easier

A peaceful moment with your child

A song that calms your heart

These moments may seem small, but they are powerful.

They gently shift your body out of stress and into a place of calm, connection, and safety.

🧠 The Science:
Your brain and nervous system are constantly scanning for danger and safety.
Triggers activate survival mode (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)…

✨ Glimmers activate your parasympathetic nervous system—helping you feel grounded and at peace.

💛 The Healing Part:
The more you notice glimmers, the more your brain begins to recognize safety more easily.
This is how healing starts—one small moment at a time.

📖 Faith Connection (NIV):
"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?" — Psalm 27:1

Even in hard seasons, God gives us glimpses of His goodness—little reminders that we are not alone.

🌸 Reflection Question:
What is one small “glimmer” you noticed today?

April Fools can be fun… but not everything should be the punchline.

Words have power. What may seem like “just a joke” can deeply impact someone’s mental health. Topics like pregnancy, miscarriage, breakups, divorce, su***de, and mental health carry real pain for many people. What feels like a joke to one person can be deeply hurtful to another.

Let’s be people who build others up, not tear them down...even in humor. 💛

DAY 5: DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know there are healthy ways to cope with overwhelming emotions that bring relief—without regret?

When emotions feel intense, your brain and body shift into survival mode.

This can lead to impulsive reactions or coping in ways that help short-term… but hurt long-term.

But here’s the truth:
👉 You can learn to respond instead of react.

Neuroscience Insight
When you feel overwhelmed, your brain activates the fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response.

In this state:
Your body is trying to protect you
Your thinking brain becomes less active
It’s harder to make calm, intentional choices
Healthy coping skills help:
* Calm your nervous system
*Bring your brain back online
*Restore a sense of safety

Even simple tools...like grounding or slow breathing; can shift your body out of survival mode.

Biblical Truth
“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”
— Proverbs 22:3 (NIV)

God calls us to respond with wisdom...not impulsivity.

Choosing healthy coping is not weakness…
it’s wise stewardship of your mind and body.

🌸 Beauty From Ashes Reflection
You don’t have to handle emotions the way you always have.
You can learn to:
pause instead of react
soothe instead of suppress
choose skills that lead to healing
Over time, your brain and body can learn a new way.

How can you cope with overwhelming emotions in a healthy way today?

DAY 4: DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know your emotions are not problems… they are signals?

Every emotion you feel is your brain and body trying to communicate something important.
Even the uncomfortable ones...like anxiety, anger, or sadness. They are not “bad”… they are informative.

Neuroscience Insight
Your brain’s amygdala processes emotions quickly to keep you safe.
But when you pause and name what you’re feeling, you activate your prefrontal cortex...the part of your brain responsible for clarity, regulation, and decision-making.

This is why simply saying:
“I feel anxious” or “I feel hurt”
can actually begin to calm your nervous system.

Emotions lose intensity when they are acknowledged instead of avoided.

Biblical Truth
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
God does not ask you to ignore your emotions
He invites you to bring them to Him.
Not just the “good” ones… All of them.

🌸 Beauty From Ashes Reflection

Your emotions are not too much.
They are not a sign of weakness.
They are God-given signals pointing to:
what matters to you
what may need healing
where you may need support

What emotion are you feeling today?
