Hip Discomfort While Barbell squatting?
Discomfort at the front of the hip can be challenging to manage
Squatting tends to feel sharp and pinchy as you descend into the squat
One of my clients recently came to me because he couldn’t squat without the pain
He just started a high-stress desk job and barely moved for 8 hours
It started affecting his training, which was devastating for him (they were his favorite movement)
We worked on a couple of things to reduce the discomfort and changed squat variations
We kept barbell squats for earlier in the week when he was feeling fresh
He was able to barbell squat more comfortably over the next few weeks, which was a huge win for both of us
