What We Believe
By Ernest Holmes, 1927

We believe in God, the living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God. We believe in the individualization of the Spirit in Us, and that all people are individualizations of the One Spirit. We believe in the eternality, the immortality, and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding. We believe that heaven is within us, and that we experience it to the degree that we become conscious of it. We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete freedom from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all. We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling presence. We believe in the direct revelation of truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, and that anyone may become a revealer of truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God. We believe that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it. We believe in the healing of the sick through the power of this Mind. We believe in the control of conditions through the power of this Mind. We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness, and the eternal Givingness of Life to all. We believe in our own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny; for we understand that the life of all is God.

There is a version of you that doesn't have to work so hard to feel God. 🤍

A version that isn't straining to connect, performing spirituality, or wondering in the quiet moments whether any of this is actually working. A version that feels genuinely held, guided and confident in their own inner wisdom.

That version of you is not far away. It's actually the truest version of you. And getting there doesn't require more discipline or more willpower or more of anything that's already exhausted you.

It just requires a little guidance. Practical, loving, honest guidance that meets you exactly where you are right now. 🕊️

So we created a free video series (short, simple and made with real intention) that gives you practical tools to deepen your conscious contact with your Higher Power today.

Each video was made slowly and carefully with one person in mind. You. The one whose heart is quietly saying yes to something more. ✨

We're doing this together. And you're already winning. 💛

In recovery, we trade one form of control for another without even realizing it. And it exhausts us.

But what I really want (what my soul is always reaching for) is that quiet joy that doesn't need to prove anything to anybody. ✨
So today the practice is simple. 🕊️ Pause. Breathe slowly.

Ask yourself gently... "Where am I trying to please instead of simply being present?"

Just notice, beloved. That noticing IS the healing. 💛

What if your doubt isn't the enemy? 👀

What if it's actually teaching you something?

Awakening is not a moment. It's a process... layer by layer, truth by truth. 🧅🌿

Stop pretending your way through healing and start living your way through it. 💛

Your experience is real. And it is enough. ✨

You are not someone who gave up. You are someone who woke up. And now you're in the part nobody talks about >> sober, searching, and trying to figure out what you actually believe about God, about Spirit, about whether anything greater than yourself is even listening. 🤍

You already know that staying sober and actually building a life with meaning are not the same thing. You've felt the difference between white-knuckling through a day and genuinely feeling held by something greater.

And you want more of the second one.

That is exactly who we wrote this for.

The Road to Your Higher Power is a free guide for people in recovery who are ready to build a connection with a Higher Power that actually feels real, alive and uniquely theirs.

A genuine living connection that strengthens everything... your recovery, your peace, your sense of who you are and why you're here. 🕊️

It's free.

And it was written for you. ✨

Hey. Come sit down for a second. 🤍 Can I ask you something honestly?

You're doing the thing. Showing up. Being responsible. Checking the boxes.

And still at the end of the day something just feels… off. Numb maybe. Or restless. Like you're present but not really there.
I know that feeling. And I want you to know it doesn't mean you're failing.

It means your soul is tired of performing. It wants to actually participate in your life.

So this week I want you to try something with me. I call it the aliveness spot check and it takes about 20 seconds.

Just ask yourself where do I feel most alive right now?

Not most productive. Not most approved of. Alive.

Maybe it's a walk. A real honest conversation. A creative idea you keep pushing aside. Holding someone's hand. Being near water.

Whatever that is — that's not a distraction from your recovery. That's direction. That indwelling power inside you doesn't shout. It just quietly makes you feel alive and pulls you toward what's real.

Try tracking that for 7 days. Just notice. 🌿
You're not lost. You're just learning to follow aliveness instead of a checklist. And that's where things start to shift.

What made you feel alive today? Tell me below. 👇

Nobody told me that sobriety doesn't remove the chaos. It removes the numbing. Which means suddenly you can hear everything — every fearful thought, every story you've been telling yourself for years, every urgent voice that used to get drowned out.

And then people say prayer doesn't work. Meditation doesn't work. I understand that completely. Because if your mind is running on fear and self-criticism on a loop, Spirit is going to sound very, very far away.

But here's what I know after years of recovery — that indwelling power was never gone. The noise was just louder than the guidance.

And this is the thing nobody says out loud: 95% of the problem was never the drinking. It was always the thinking. The stories. The fear. The self-criticism dressed up as self-awareness.

So if you're doing everything right and still feel disconnected — please hear this. You are not failing. You are evolving. And that is a very different thing. 🤍

Save this if you needed it today. And share it with someone who's doing the work but still feels lost. 👇

You put down the substance and everyone celebrates. Meetings. Chips. Hugs. You did it.

And then Monday happens. Tuesday happens. And Wednesday. And the quiet sets in.

And you realize getting sober was the beginning. Not the destination.

Because now you have to figure out who you actually are without it. What you actually feel. What you actually want. What you believe. What brings you alive.

That's an invitation. 🤍

The spiritual journey in recovery isn't about being more religious. It's about finally being honest enough to meet yourself.

And that person waiting underneath all of it?

Worth meeting. 💛

Save this if you needed to hear it. Share it with someone still figuring that out. 👇

In recovery I worked so hard to do everything right. 🤍 The steps. The meetings. The meditation. All of it... perfectly... just to feel worthy.

But I brought the same shame from addiction straight into my spiritual life. 😔

And then I learned >> Spirit isn't watching you perform, beloved. Spirit is living as you. 🕊️

You don't have to earn your sobriety AND your spirituality. ✨
God is not grading you. You can exhale now. 💛

03/04/2026

"Fake it till you make it" can actually hurt you. 👀

There came a point where pretending stopped working, and I had to choose truth instead.
Honesty, beloveds, IS a spiritual practice. 🙏🏽✨

Watch till the end. This one's for everyone who's tired of performing their healing. 💛

I got sober in the late 1980s, during the height of the AIDS pandemic. And every week, someone I knew was dying.

The message in the air... sometimes spoken, sometimes just implied... was that God was punishing gay people.

Punishing anyone deemed “other.”

And something in me knew…
if God looks like cruelty, blame, or abandonment,
then something is deeply wrong with that picture.

Because love doesn’t punish people for being human.
And a God worth trusting doesn’t require us to turn away from compassion in order to belong.

That realization didn’t destroy my faith. It saved it. If this conversation is stirring something in you—
the questioning, the releasing, the quiet I can’t carry this version of God anymore—
you don’t have to walk that alone.

VIDA is a space for people who are ready to explore faith, recovery, and spirituality
without shame, fear, or performance.

It’s for those who want:
✨ a God rooted in love, not punishment
✨ spiritual honesty instead of spiritual bypassing
✨ safety for their nervous system and their soul
✨ room to heal, question, and grow—at their own pace

You don’t have to burn it all down.
You don’t have to have the answers.

You just need a place where your lived experience is welcome.

VIDA is that place.
Come as you are.
We’ll take the next gentle step together. 🤍

They're calling it "quiet burnout" >> when you appear engaged but you're actually running on empty.

And it's everywhere right now.

You're not depressed. You're just... going through the motions.

Checking boxes. Functioning.

But you're not living.

And here's the hardest part: Because you look fine, no one notices. Not your partner. Not your sponsor. Not your therapist.

Sometimes not even you.

You tell yourself: "I should be grateful. I'm sober. I have a job. I'm not using. What right do I have to feel this way?"

But that's the thing... you're not feeling anything at all.

Your nervous system has been so overtaxed that it subconsciously "turned down the volume" on all emotions to avoid further overwhelm.

This results in a life that feels gray.

Spiritual practices that help you feel safe enough to feel anything.

Because you didn't get sober just to spend the rest of your life feeling nothing.

You got sober so you could feel everything... the good, the hard, the beautiful, the messy, all of it.

You deserve to feel the warmth of the sun on your face and actually register it.

You deserve to laugh and mean it.

You deserve to look forward to something, to be excited, to be moved by your own life.
