Cats Available for Adoption!
We currently have several wonderful cats who are ready for loving homes. Each cat has been vet-checked, vaccinated (age appropriate), and is well-socialized with people and other cats. Personalities range from playful and energetic to calm and snuggly—so we can help you find the perfect match!

What a year. ❤️
Looking back at these moments, we are overwhelmed with gratitude — for our incredible team, our amazing clients, the rescue partners who trust us, and every furry family member who walked through our doors in 2025. Thank you for believing in us, supporting our mission, laughing with us, crying with us, and allowing us to care for those you love most. It’s truly an honor.

We will be closed from 12/24/24 through 1/4/26 to give our team much-needed rest with their families and we will reopen on 1/5/26.

We will still be available for limited needs:

• Urgent care walk-ins:
1/2 from 9am–4pm

Onto newer pastures! Literally! Alex and her family are driving the last of the rescue pups to their forever homes in the PNW! Mama dog, “Hazel” will be living up on a 2 acre lot in Oregon in her cozy new home and lots of land to roam while “Fiona” will be living the good life in her new home in Washington with new cat siblings and a family ready to take her on an abundance of adventures. Thank you to all who helped support them in their journey.

HAPPY PAWLIDAYS! Sunstone and Mayas Corner are partnering up to offer a day of cheer. Low cost spay/neuter services for our feline friends. We know it can be a busy and expensive time but we are here to help make essential care more affordable and accessible to our community.

This event (for now) is limited to CAT spay/neuter services. It will be held in our surgical center conveniently located right next to Sunstone Animal Hospital on Friday 12/12 at 7am. Please email us or call us directly for scheduling.

🌞 Welcome Dr. David Higginbotham! 🐾

We’re beyond excited to welcome Dr. David Higginbotham to the Sunstone Animal Hospital family! 💛

He earned his degree in Biology from Long Beach State and went on to receive his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2007. Dr. David brings a calm, practical, and caring approach to every patient he meets — and we can’t wait to have his steady energy around the clinic!

When he’s not caring for your pets, you’ll probably find him hiking, fishing, gardening, or getting lost (in the best way) in the beautiful Eastern Sierra mountain range 🌲⛰️🎣

We’re feeling so lucky to have him join our Sunstone Family — stop by and say hi to Dr. David 👋🐶🐱

We’re over the moon to share that *all* of our rescue pups — and their amazing momma — have officially found their forever homes! 💕🐾

From tiny wobbly paws to playful zoomies, we’ve watched them grow, heal, and thrive — and now they’re off to start the next beautiful chapter of their lives surrounded by love. 🏡✨

A huge thank-you to everyone who helped along the way — from rescuers to our incredible Sunstone team, and to the wonderful families who opened their hearts. 💛

Here’s to new beginnings, full bellies, and endless cuddles. 💫

What a fabulous turn out! We were lucky enough to sn**ch a vendor spot for annual spooktacular event and met so many wonderful new friends. We are so grateful to be in the same complex as a positive reinforcement, fear-free based training facility with not only the education, but also the same love and compassion we all share. We are building relationships and life long family - fur members. Thank you Yo and everyone at Canine Learning Academy that consistently makes our pets not only the best mannered out there, but also feel loved, appreciated and well snacked!

✨🌼 Every year, we take time to celebrate Día de Los Mu***os, a beautiful tradition that honors the lives and memories of those who have passed — including our cherished animal companions. 🕯️🐾

Our ofrenda (altar)is now on display in the hospital lobby — lovingly decorated with marigolds, candles, and mementos to celebrate the pets who brought light, laughter, and unconditional love into our lives. 💛

We invite our Sunstone family to take part:
Bring a photo of your remembered pet and, if you’d like, a small offering— their favorite toy, treat, or flower — to add to our community ofrenda. Together, we’ll fill this space with the spirit, color, and warmth that makes Día de Los Mu***os so meaningful.

Let’s celebrate their memory, their joy, and the lasting pawprints they’ve left on our hearts. 🐶🐱🌈

If you were wondering why you didn’t see Dr. Meredith around Sunstone as much this summer… she was off in the Galápagos, caring for the dogs and cats of San Cristóbal Island! Mixing a little island adventure with her very favorite thing: helping animals 💛 (Yes, kind of like Ted from Schitt’s Creek… island vet life really is a thing).

Here’s to making the world a little brighter with kindness, love, and care - for animals and humans alike. ☺️✨
