Sayeh Beheshti, M.D. Born and raised through a revolution and a war in Tehran, Iran. Writing a memoir about those years.

Dr. Sayeh Beheshti is a graduate of University of California, Irvine (UCI) Department of Psychiatry Residency Program, where she was trained in the latest treatments for a large variety of mental health symptoms and disorders. She has experience in working with a wide range of issues from the most severe disorders requiring complex management and hospitalization, to those struggling with relations

hips, substance abuse, or weight problems, to very highly functioning individuals seeking a further understanding of their inner psyche or spirituality. Dr. Beheshti is fully competent in both psychotherapeutic techniques and medication management, and has a strong interest in incorporating guided imagery and meditation for those patients interested in this modality of treatment. Dr. Beheshti has a philosophy of treating each patient as an individual with unique needs and circumstances. She firmly believes the best way to formulate an ideal treatment modality for clients is through establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with them and understanding their needs within the context of their biological, psychological, and spiritual makeup as well as the environmental and social context in which they live in.

The shadow isn’t evil. It’s sacred energy that’s been buried — exiled in order to survive.

This week’s post explores the unconscious wounds that shape our culture, our selves, and our relationships. Read it now on Substack.

We all carry both feminine and masculine energies — not as opposites, but as partners in our inner world.
When one is silenced or distorted, we suffer. But when both are honored, we begin to return to ourselves.

My latest post explores the sacred gifts of these archetypes — and what it means to heal the imbalance, from the inside out.

I was 8 when I first wished I’d been born a boy.

A girl I loved like a sister was forced to marry a violent man. No one could stop it. That was my first lesson in what it meant to be a girl.

This story stayed with me—and shaped everything.

What was your first lesson in being a girl?

✨ I’ve been quiet on here for a while, but something powerful has been taking shape behind the scenes.

I’m writing a book called Conscious Feminism—a "big idea" project that weaves together ancient wisdom, psychology, and spiritual insight to reimagine what true balance between the masculine and feminine could look like in our world.

This is not a fight between genders. It’s a movement toward wholeness.

Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing more from the writing process, the inspiration behind the work, and the vision that keeps calling me forward.

If you’ve ever felt the stirrings of something deeper—of healing, of integration, of a future that honors both strength and softness—you’re not alone.

Welcome! We’re just getting started.

These angels come into our lives and share their entire, brutally short existence with us. Daisy taught me the true meaning of unconditional love, grace, sweetness, and patience. Daisy left us in the early hours of March 19th. Now I am left with trying to figure out how to go on without her. I will miss my darling Daisy for the rest of my life.

On International Women’s Day, remember women across the world who have their basic human rights taken from them. Malala Yousafzai has risked her life repeatedly to fight for girls’ right to education. I am in awe of her strength and resolve.
