Today is National Self-Care Day, and we asked our peers: “What does self-care look like for you?” From massages and yoga to deep breathing and journaling, we created a collective vision board of wellness, reminding us that self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

As Audre Lorde said, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

In a world that asks us to go, go, go, we choose to pause, breathe, and come back home to ourselves. 💛

🚨 SB 27 expands CARE Court and not in a good way.
It targets people with mood disorders who've ever had psychosis and fast tracks misdemeanor defendants into forced treatment.

As a peer run agency, we know healing happens through choice, not coercion. This would remove autonomy, bypasses consent, and criminalizes mental health.

Earlier this year, we made PRPSN history by hosting our first ever in-person CAPS cohort inside CDCR Chino Hills, activating 8 incredible men on their journey of healing as they train for their Medi-cal Peer Support Certification.

Fast forward to today: three of those graduates have been released and are already applying themselves on the outside. They dropped by our office during open hours, ready to build, reconnect, and keep doing the work they set out to complete.🫂

This is what reentry with purpose looks like. 💪🏾🖤

In collaboration with CDTech, Avalon Carver, South Central LAMP, and Artivist United, we brought Empowermind: A South Central Wellness Summit back to Augustus Hawkins Nature Park for the second year in a row. Held on Mother’s Day weekend, we honored Mom, Mama, Jefita—and Mother Nature—with a day of nourishment, healing, and community care.

Because wellness starts with the ones who care for us, and radiates outward. 🌸💚
