This goes for the midwifery legislation also. Birth used to be a community event. Not everyone wants this, so it is a choice. But there is a push to put it all under government legislation, control, and oversight. Laws and legislation do not equal safety and they certainly do not equal freedom. We need choices not condemnation.
Currently here in Texas and several other states, homeschoolers don't have to answer to the public school system or any regulatory board. However, new "school choice" legislation 🎣 aimed at eventually netting all education into the government boat, baits homeschool parents to begin giving up freedom and privacy willingly. Jumping right out of the ocean of independence into the government viewing tank, for spending cash they must get itemized-permission to spend.🤑
Public school was once a "choice" when it first started as a one room schoolhouse long ago. After it gained numbers, power, control of thought, and built up a workforce with both parents out of the house, school became mandatory. 💪 A strong force of defiant and determined parents had to reclaim their rights to raise and educate their children with hard fought legal battles and threats of losing their kids to make homeschooling as free as it is today in Texas and elsewhere.
Now we are being enticed back into the boat. 🎣 Yes, it is a financial strain for many to homeschool, and we still must pay school taxes, but money filtered through government is not given back freely. Exclusive promises and amendments for homeschool exceptions to future regulations are being tied to these bills, but how tenuously? How easy are those bait lines clipped from the net when the power of united parents is divided and diminished by the want and later dependence on the handouts 💸? Read what's going on in Illinois now to see how subversive things can get. 👀
🐠I've said it before and I'll say it again as I urge you all to swim away from the net... 📍 We already had a choice. Freedom doesn't come with a leash.
