July is all about celebrating Independence and we would like to introduce David! 🇺🇸

David came to The Waters of Huntington about six months ago. He states, “The first five weeks of being here I do not remember a thing. My family was called in because they thought I was dying. I was in a wheelchair and totally dependent upon staff. Then one day it was like something just hit me and I woke up. I started in therapy and Jen the therapist took me under her wing and put me on track. I was amazed at how quickly things progressed. Everything is going great now!”

When asked about his care at The Waters David states,“Staff have all been excellent. They are like family. I am spoiled! Jen, Kathy, Chgon, Theresa, just all of them! I knew if I wanted to get better, I had to do what they said because they knew what had to be done.”

When asked about next steps, David said he is now looking at different assisted living facilities as his goal is to eventually get back into the community and closer to his daughter.” When asked about any advise he may have for anyone else that comes to our facility for rehabilitation and care, he states, “Accept and absorb it all in. Be polite and do what is asked of you. Give them a shot, they know what they are doing. Set goals for yourself. Tell them how you feel and be honest with them. All the people here care about you and want you to get better.”

We are so proud of David and all he has accomplished during his time here! He is a true testament of success! It was wonderful watching you regain your independence!

We wrapped up our celebrations with a “Yee-Haw” good time, that was “Totally Awesome” in our tie-dyed shirts while saying “Mahalo” (Thank you) to our CNA’s!

Chili dogs, walking tacos, and a potato bar was provided from our amazing partners at Stillwater Hospice, Longevity, and Eleos Hospice Care. We truly appreciate all of our CNA’s, their hard work, and all they do for our residents at The Waters of Huntington!

Our celebrations continue with a Disney theme. Staff dressed in their favorite Disney attire and enjoyed an ice cream bar with all the toppings provided by Paradigm Health and Nothing Bundt Cakes provided by Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
