The Waters of Huntington would like to congratulate our amazing SSD, Chgon Baker, on becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners! 👏

This certification reflects her passion, knowledge, and commitment to providing the highest quality care for all of our residents. This new certification will be especially helpful for those in our Memory Springs Unit.

Congratulations, Chgon — we’re so lucky to have you on our team and so proud of you for achieving this incredible milestone! 💙

The Waters of Huntington had a wonderful time at our Grand Opening of our new Hospice Room! This addition to our facility was thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and care for patients and their families during life’s most delicate moments.

July is all about celebrating Independence and we would like to introduce David! 🇺🇸

David came to The Waters of Huntington about six months ago. He states, “The first five weeks of being here I do not remember a thing. My family was called in because they thought I was dying. I was in a wheelchair and totally dependent upon staff. Then one day it was like something just hit me and I woke up. I started in therapy and Jen the therapist took me under her wing and put me on track. I was amazed at how quickly things progressed. Everything is going great now!”

When asked about his care at The Waters David states,“Staff have all been excellent. They are like family. I am spoiled! Jen, Kathy, Chgon, Theresa, just all of them! I knew if I wanted to get better, I had to do what they said because they knew what had to be done.”

When asked about next steps, David said he is now looking at different assisted living facilities as his goal is to eventually get back into the community and closer to his daughter.” When asked about any advise he may have for anyone else that comes to our facility for rehabilitation and care, he states, “Accept and absorb it all in. Be polite and do what is asked of you. Give them a shot, they know what they are doing. Set goals for yourself. Tell them how you feel and be honest with them. All the people here care about you and want you to get better.”

We are so proud of David and all he has accomplished during his time here! He is a true testament of success! It was wonderful watching you regain your independence!
